Scarred's self-titled tech metal album is one that flirts throughout with varying degrees and forms of metal. It's chaotic in nature feeling like someone is melting albums together when looked at as a whole, but somehow the talent level here is enough that Scarred, the album, isn't a mess.
The aggression largely flows without much departure. The vocals grind and bounce in complement to the top shelf guitar work and precise rhythm section. An angst filled smack in the face this release is and a fucking fun one at that. If you consider yourself a fan of tech metal with a fine groove attached, go ahead and give it a spin. Let it win you over like it did me.
