Dusting Off a Gem #6: Chimaira's, Resurrection a review

I remember owning this CD back in high school. I grew up pretty poor so I owned very few albums. This one caught my eye and I pulled the trigger. I also remember losing it. And then I forgot about Resurrection, the only Chimaira release I believe I've ever heard, until something random sparked a memory.

Upon listening to what is apparently their fourth release, I found myself enjoying it perhaps more now than I ever did all of those years ago. They really nailed the genre pretty damn well here, with a nice, frequent wave of harsh screams over walls of loud groove. The vocalist seems to be a bit of a dick and I'm not super surprised by that, but if you want something heavy with an old school edge, Resurrection is pretty fucking good.
