Chevelle's latest offering, NIRATIAS, is an acronym for Nothing is Real and This is a Simulation. It's a sci-fi dipped concept album that I believe my nerdy teen self would have ate up even more so than current me. The style here sees the band on their ninth album both playing to their comforts while clearly making efforts at experimenting so it's a safe bet that long time fans of the group will find plenty to enjoy. The repetitiveness at times, especially on Peace, is a small nitpick and I would have appreciated a tad more heavy spots mixed in throughout. Still, I thought the Loeffler's did a very good job overall and consider it an enjoyable album worth checking out.
