Trump's COVID Response

Let me start by saying that I am very aware that Trump is a complete fucking moron. Anyone that thinks otherwise likely is, too. That said, he's good at playing the game and exploiting situations. Also, what he lacks in true intelligence is made up for by the dangerous people that he has surrounded himself with. Regardless, I think we discredit the current administration far too often, myself included, by assuming that some actions were done out of stupidity versus intended maliciousness.

COVID is a great example, specifically the way in which we handled it as a country. We wrote off the way the country has responded as illogically done, writing the entire thing off as the work of a clown. 

We were wrong.

Take a look at Trump's presidency. One of this administrations biggest goals has been to further along the wealth gap and promote even more power into the hands of the elite. Make no mistake, Trump is not one of the people. He has long positioned himself as an top shelf man and has continued to rub shoulders with these people. He's in debt to some of the most powerful banks, after all. No one that owns a golden toilet is ever going to actually be a representative of the working class...

Now, look at the increase in wealth that we've seen the richest men in the country bathe in during the past few months. Look at the power that has moved increasingly into their hands while small shops close down. None of that was an accident.

Trump rubbed their shoulders nicely, once again. His base can't see him as ever being in the wrong so they've made a bunch of excuses for the response either. The fact is, he's seemingly lost very little support from his cult, he further helped his rich buddies, and he doesn't care what anyone else thinks because those aren't his voters. He's also, just in case, set up the ground work to cry fraud should it all backfire in November and also been trying to rig things along the way (the USPS situation for one example). He knows it's all serious, having tests done daily and having anyone that sees him require testing too, but why should he care about the meat grinder?

So, lets stop writing off everything as an act of stupidity and accept that maybe, just maybe, there's more going on here!
