The newest Cuttle Edge Battle!! kicks off 2024 coverage just in time for fans to jump in. This edition includes Kagetora and Ryoya Tanaka facing Hyo and Luis Mante and an Open the Owarai Gate title defense (comedy belt) with Lingerie Muto facing Don Fujii.
This episode is really for fans looking to get hardcore into the promotion. Or at least, the first match is. People that used to love the company but haven't been watching regularly for a bit might be the best market? The matches here in general really aren't must-see on their own, but there is certainly some depth to that opener.
Ryoya, for instance, is a new example of how good this company is at developing original talent quickly. Mante holds the top belt of the company and Hyo the secondary singles belt and is in his second reign. This was a big test for Tanaka considering the circumstances and it was good stuff overall.

The other match saw Munenori Sawa playing a drag character. If you enjoy this brand of comedy, it was fine. If you don't, you'll hate it. Honestly, it's fine to just skip it. The Owarai belt really isn't needed.
