The Canadiens managed to stomp out New Jersey in a 5-2 victory thanks to nearly 40 saves (37 for those wanting to be specific) from Montembeault. This ended a six-game home W streak for the squad, but the falling Devils did continue to see a nice spark from Mercer that should spill over and continue as the team largely marches on toward the post-season.
