Recently, CMLL announced a plan to start having bigger shows each month. This trend is set to start in about two weeks with Juicio Final, on the 31st. They haven't ran a show called that in years, but I expect several older event names to be revived going forward.
Here's the card:
1.Rey Cometa, Divinos Laguneros vs Kawato, Misterioso Jr, Virus
2.Hermano Chavez, Soberano vs Hijos del Infierno
3.Apuesta: Kaho vs Amapola
4.CMLL World Tag Titles: Diamante Azul, Valiente(c) vs Guerreros Laguneros
5.Caristico, Sky Team vs Peste Negra
6.Apuesta: Ultimo Guerrero vs Mascara Ano 2000
So, the elephant in the room is that this isn't a very good show on paper. Perhaps matches four and five could be pretty good, but the two hair matches don't do much for me and most of the rest of this looks like a random Friday show. But, that said, I am all for the promise of monthly big shows since they only have a handful a year and they are typically pretty good events when they do run.
Sadly, meanwhile, Virus and Metalico are having a retirement match on a random Sunday show. At least I know Virus won't be the one to lose.
UPDATE: The Virus/Metalico match has been added to the Jucio Final card.
Anyway, I have a felling this change is due to their TV deal and the fact that they are doing nowhere near the numbers of rival, AAA, who used to be on the network they're now on. I'm choosing to be cautiously optimistic here, so let's see where it goes either way.
