During an NXT live event in Nebraska, referee Tom Castor suffered a broken leg. He finished the match. My respect to the Tom, and I wish him a speedy recovery!

Lucha Underground Releases King Cuerno, Ivelisse, More

Lucha Underground was the target of some bad publicity recently when it came out that they were being sued by a handful of talents. It is now being reported that the show has granted the release of King Cuerno/Hijo Fantasma (who also has left AAA), Ivelisse, Kobra Moon/Thunder Rosa, and Joey Ryan. “I’m honored to say that we received 100% of the relief that we were suing to obtain and four young talented wrestlers are no longer bound by an unfair contract that prohibits them from taking full advantage of their talents at the prime of their career,” said attorney Andre Verdun, who represented the talent in these cases . “I wish them all the best of luck.” It's hard not to see this as further proof that there will not be another season, but they had a good run all things considered. Red's WCW Digest #1: World War 3 1995

I've had a bit of a time settling back in after my latest move. I've also done something for CZW and done a few other things. During the time I have been finding myself binging on a lot of WCW content. I've had previous plans to do something similar to this, but I've reworked it into this. Simply put; I've realized that a separate digest series is needed if I'm going to keep digging into Bischoff's old stuff so here we are. I've previously covered 1995 content setting this one up if you're wondering why I'm starting here. The opener was for the Television Championship as well as Diamond Doll's managerial services. Both workers were working a very 90's program but kind of made it work because they're good...workers. Um...yeah, good stuff to start the show off nicely. The big dude brawl basically sucked.
