The Storm Outside

The rain outside had been thought to have reached a peak nearly 24 hours ago. Instead, it hit that crescendo and remained. The sound of the storm hitting the roof above had now turned into a bit of a contradiction as the echo itself was basically tuned out now by Edwin's ears yet also played a role as a constant distraction due to the fears the weather had created. The power came and went from time to time. The last time he was able to get an update from his television was about an forty-five minutes ago and had warned that the reservoirs were being pushed to their limits. Anyone who had not yet evacuated was reminded that they should stay put and tips were given for survival. Facebook updates from people that Edwin knew from high school showed that there were people with their trucks and boats playing hero. The fact is, Edwin was worried by the storm but not because he was left alone in a house slowly filling with water but because he wanted the rate to increase and was beginn

Weekly Wrestling Roundup: September 2019 (Week 1)

Week of 09/01-09/07 I've decided that, going forward, I'll be including all weekly wrestling programming back into this section again. This included Wrestle-1, BTE, etc. I did that for a while and then switched back. Ultimately, I've decided it just is a better format, though. Note that this was decided after I had already watched and given my thoughts on BTE, Road to AEW on TNT, and W1 installments so they won't be here this time. Know that even if I catch a full episode, the matches will still be posted here and I might give additional thoughts as well, if they seem needed. If you enjoy spotfests, check this one out. 2.MLW World Title: Fatu(c) vs Lawlor ***1/4 MLW Fusion I was surprised when they pu

Select Match Reviews: Victory on the Horizon

Matches from NOAH N-1 Victory 08/29 1.Mochizuki vs Kenou ****1/4 2.Go vs Masa ****1/2 Thoughts: My pulls from the event are tournament matches and the two matches that really caught my attention from the card, but note that the embedded video above is the entire 08/29 gig if you want to see it. Now, admittedly most of the matches from the tournament so far have actually let me down a bit. It's not that they've been generally bad or anything. I just don't think that most of them have been as good as I expected they'd be before clicking on them. That theme was far from true here, though... Up first, my favorite NOAH roster member took on the best guest in the N-1. Truly, fantastic stuff on display here. Honestly, this just makes me want Mochizuki in NOAH more often and I just always want more Kenou contest either way. Make sure you check that one out for sure. The main event was a MOTYC and an all around awesome showcase that made Masa come off as a star an
